The Multifaceted Kitchen Island

The kitchen island is a multi-functional part of the kitchen, and the hub to the various uses it has from hosting, food prep, cooking to dining. From a design perspective there is so much you can do with an island with: Split level, breakfast bar seating, slim islands and chefs islands. There are so many options!

Quirky surfaces

Quirky and unique surfaces are becoming increasingly more popular. Whether they’re used as worktops or splash backs, it’s an easy way to create a high impact look. Take this Compac Quartz with waterfall end in ice black as seen above, we love how it is such a big contrast from the pale cream doors. This can equally work with modern or traditional kitchens.

Multi-tonal fixtures and floors

We have noticed more and more people are after a contrast with the tones they use. The mix of light and dark doors can make a kitchen feel much larger. Using darker shades for your base cabinets can prevent the cabinets feeling ‘too heavy’ but still give a beautiful contrast.

Smeg Pink

The Year of Pink!

With the Pantone colour of the year 2023 being pink or more specifically ‘Viva Magenta 18-1750’ and the Barbie takeover of the summer. We are absolutely loving the amount of pink we are seeing being used in kitchens, whether it’s with appliances or full furniture, the pop of colour is so fun and playful.

Green Production

Going Green

With sustainability becoming more and more important for the consumer, we as a company are ensuring we are offering products and materials that will help us be part of building a better future for the eco-friendly world. The German kitchen brand we sell ‘Rotpunkt’ have recently introduced ‘Greenline BioBoard Gen2’, with chipboards consisting of 90% recycled wood and have also confirmed their plans to make their production sites in Bünde and Getmold 100% carbon-neutral.
